Overview
Slimane Azem (1918-1983) est né en Algérie à Agwni g-eyran en Kabylie. Il a subi de plein fouet les affres de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et de la Guerre d'Algérie. Ses chants de philosophie politique lui ont valu d'être censuré par l'ordre colonial français et par l'ordre dictatorial algérien. Parti trop tôt (à 65 ans), S. Azem nous a légué un paradoxe : tirer sa révérence pour revenir en forcce, s'éteindre tout en rayonnant, faire triompher ses droits tout en ayant tout perdu.
Son nom et son oeuvre reviennent aujourd'hui avec éclat en France et en Algérie.
