Lope de Vega is one of the summits of Spanish poetry of the Baroque and of all time: he knew how to enliven it with a torrent of uniquely accomplished verse whose main attraction is its emotional intensity, which readers relate to the authors experience. This anthology aims to attest to this sensation, but also to the variety of styles that Lope could display, from the stormy to the sweet, from the naïve to the erudite, from the vulgar to the sublime.
