Duties and Obligations of Educators

                     

 

The right of learners to education applies to the teaching process in schools and the involvement of the educator (Links to an external site.). Therefore, all educators have an obligation to protect the right of learners to education (Section 29 of the Constitution) by their tooltip HINT red ICON.pngprofessional conduct. The educator has a wide variety of duties that are essential for carrying out the teaching programme in a school.

  • Ensuring the best interest of the child (Section 28) and

  • The execution of certain administrative tasks within their delegated tasks.

 

Learners can expect educators to maintain a high standard of professional tooltip FACT purple ICON.pngethics and to be present to teach their classes, assist them with their learning difficulties, report on their progress and look after their well-being. There should be a relationship of mutual trust and respect between educators and learners.
